Friday the 13th heroine Adrienne King had a meeting with Bryan Fuller about the Crystal Lake TV series, coming in 2024

Adrienne King played final girl Alice Hardy in the 1980 classic Friday the 13th (watch it HERE), but her character didn’t make it very far into Friday the 13th Part 2 (watch that one HERE) before being dispatched with an icepick. That isn’t stopping King from returning to the franchise more than forty years later, though! It was recently announced that a Friday the 13th TV series called Crystal Lake is coming our way from Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller, Friday the 13th franchise rights holders Victor Miller and Rob Barsamian (plus Miller’s lawyer Marc Toberoff), A24, and the Peacock streaming service – and a couple months ago, Fuller revealed that King will have a “recurring role” on the show. Today, King took to social media to share a picture of her with Fuller… and in the caption, she mentioned that Crystal Lake is “coming 2024“.

King wrote, “Happy Friday Campers! Bryan Fuller, our bloody brilliant Head Counselor/ Producer of CRYSTAL LAKE, the upcoming series & I had another exciting meeting filling me on what’s in store for us at Camp Blood! Always a joy & can’t wait until I’m able share some details! staytuned #happycamper #CRYSTALLAKE fridayvibes #fridaythe13th #newseries #Coming2024

Fuller has previously said that he had mapped out three seasons of Crystal Lake. (And apparently he has cracked season 4 as well since he said that.) Peacock faces a financial penalty if they don’t at least let the show run for two seasons. Fuller has described the show as a “pre-remake-quel” and said that they can use any elements they want from the entire Friday the 13th franchise. The plan is that we will see “many familiar manifestations of Jason” throughout the series. “The series is covering the life and times of these two characters (presumably he’s referring to Pamela and Jason there)”. There’s also going to be two scores to choose from: “a modern one and a classic Harry Manfredini one.”

There’s a Friday the 13th on the calendar this October, so some fans were hoping Crystal Lake might premiere then. But a 2024 release does make more sense, since Fuller and the writing team (which includes original Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson) just started working on the scripts at the end of January. There are two Friday the 13ths in 2024, but they’re not until September and December.

Are you looking forward to watching Crystal Lake in 2024? Let us know by leaving a comment below. Friday the 13th is my favorite franchise, so there’s no way I won’t be tuning in.
