We interview Sylvester Stallone, his wife and daughters in support of their new reality show, The Family Stallone!
If you’re a JoBlo regular, you’ll know that we love Sylvester Stallone. I write and narrate a show called Sylvester Stallone Revisited that breaks down his movies chronologically (watch them here), and I’ve been lucky to interview him in the past for his Rocky IV recut, Rocky v Drago. Sly has always supported the site, and I was thrilled when we were invited to talk to him and the whole Stallone family in support of their reality show, The Family Stallone.
Now, I know what you’re thinking – why is Sly doing a reality show? Having seen the first few episodes, I can tell you that this is not a trashy show. If anything, it’s the opposite, with it a highly inspirational account of an aging icon wanting to spend more time with his family. Once it drops on Paramount Plus (Wednesday, May 17), Stallone fans will find themselves admiring the icon even more.
In our exclusive chat, Sly talks about what he wanted to convey, while his daughters, Sistine and Sophia, reveal that the idea for the show came from a great interview they did with their dad on their Unwaxed podcast. Sly’s wife, Jennifer, also opens up about how weird it was having cameras around the house, while the youngest Stallone daughter, Scarlett, discusses juggling the show with her own role on Sly’s show, Tulsa King.
As always, Sly made for a great interview, and his whole family was super friendly, boosting my admiration of the man even more. The Family Stallone is a really fun show, with some awesome celeb cameos from a surprisingly game Al Pacino, Dolph Lundgren, and yes, even Sly’s brother, Frank, whose apartment is visited in episode two and has to be seen to be believed. They’re a likable, loving bunch, and I’ll be watching this show every week.
