4 Businesses Find A New Home In A Greenwich Vill Luxury Building

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Four new businesses are in the process of opening on the base floor of a luxury building in Greenwich Village. The team of welcomed neighborhood additions is made up of a French bakery, a salon, a pizza joint, and an Italian gelato shop.

The four businesses are opening on the first floor of The Albert, which is a mostly residential building at 25 East 10th Street.

The new Greenwich Village businesses were announced Wednesday by the real estate development company TF Cornerstone, which oversees the management of The Albert building.

The new businesses are replacing a set of old shops and restaurants at the location that closed during the past couple of years.

Here is more information about the four fresh businesses, two of which already opened in the past couple of weeks.

Maman (OPEN)

The French bakery, coffee shop, and kitchen offers a selection of baked goods, coffees, breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. The bakery opened its first shop in SoHo in 2014 and now has outposts across New York City, Montreal, and Toronto.

We could not be happier to have opened our doors in Greenwich Village,” said Benjamin Sormonte, Owner of Maman, in a news release. “This is a prime location and retail space for our bakery. We have loved getting to know a new base of customers along University Place.”

QQ Nails and Spa (OPEN)

The salon offers manicures, pedicures, and waxing services in its new 3,208 square-foot home within The Albert. QQ Nails actually has 10 other locations throughout Manhattan, including one in a nearby property at 7 East 14th Street.

“QQ Nails and Spa is excited to expand our business with a new location at another TFC space,” said Joey Fei, CEO of QQ Nails and Spa, in a news release. “We’re bringing high-quality services and a break from city life with our serene spa for Greenwich Village neighbors to enjoy.”

Simo is a popular, affordable pizzeria that looks to capture the authenticity of Neapolitan cuisine and offers gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options along with more traditional favorites. The joint offers all of its pizza for around $10, and the business will operate out of its new 2,154 square-foot home within The Albert.

“We’re proud to be expanding our business and serving delicious pizza to even more New Yorkers with our new location,” said Simone Falco, Founder of Simò Pizza, in a news release. “We have loved being a TFC tenant at 90 Gansevoort Street and look forward to growing our partnership and business in one of the most beautiful and well-located buildings in the Village.”

The shop serves traditional gelato using family recipes that started with a little shop in the south of Italy in 1880. Gelateria Gentile will strive to bring rich, authentic flavors to the Greenwich Village in its new 690 square-foot home.

“We are excited to bring our homemade recipes and Southern Italian delicacies to a new location in Greenwich Village,” said Fabio Camardi of Gelateria Gentile. “TFC has been wonderful throughout this process and we look forward to a summer filled with plenty of New Yorkers with gelato in hand.”
