Dream jobs do exist, after all.
Putting a call out on their website, Cruise Croatia – one of the largest luxury yacht cruise companies along the Croatian coast – has revealed that they’re recruiting for a new role… one that many people would consider to be their ideal gig (me included).
Looking to hire an official wine taster, the successful applicant will essentially be paid to drink wine at home. Yes, really.
Tasked with trying out a selection of locally produced Croatian wines, the company will ship a case out to your home (free of charge) and they’ll even pay you £100 for your troubles too.
All you have to do in return is provide Cruise Croatia with a short written review of each wine you sample – to help them continue developing their food/wine offering on board. Sure, that doesn’t sound like ‘work’ at all.
Claiming that Croatian wines are ‘undiscovered gems’ and vastly underrated, the company is keen to bring people’s attention to the quality of the wines being produced in the area.
Giving a little bit of info about the history of Croatian wine-making, a post on the company website reads:
“Croatia has been producing wine for more than 2,400 years, with much of its coastline dotted with vineyards overlooking the beautiful Croatian coast.
“Since its independence in 1991 and entrance to the EU in 2013, the country has seen a steady global demand for its wine. The country now boasts over 300 geographically-defined wine-producing regions and over 40 individual labels.”
Interested? Applications close at 11:59pm on March 1st and the only criteria is that you are of legal drinking age. Find out more and apply here.
