Kate Winslet shared her memory of ‘high profile’ celebrities who had their period just as they were walking the red carpet.

Mother Nature waits for no one, even if you are an A-list star dressed to the nines in designer gear.

The celebs, who Kate didn’t name, had to quickly make their excuses and leave a snazzy showbiz event to get a change of clothes.

Appearing on The Chris Evans Virgin Radio Breakfast Show to reveal the woes of being caught short, the actress shared: ‘I won’t say their names but two extremely famous high profile Hollywood women have turned to me on red carpets and said, “I think I just got my period” and they had – and they had to leave, go home and get changed.’

The Blackbird star also confessed she feels like she is ‘winging it’ in her career, despite having been in the business for a long time.

She described each new acting gig as feeling ‘like the first day of school’, adding the ‘anxieties’ of the industry have stayed with her throughout her career.

‘I’m 45 years old. I’ve been doing this job since I was 17 and somehow they keep inviting me back to join the party. So I’m grateful, what can I say?’ Kate said.

‘Sometimes I still feel like I’m still getting going, every job feels like my first year. I still get terrified before a first job. It’s like the first day of school – you have to get it out of the way and you think, “Oh god, everyone’s looking at me and they think my accent is rubbish and they don’t think I can act very well.”

‘Those anxieties never leave you, but I think a bit of fear in life is a good thing. You need to have goals, you’ve got to have something to aim for. It’s okay to be terrified and it’s okay to be real about it.

‘Actors aren’t superhuman. You don’t have the answers all the time, sometimes you just make it up as you go along. I’m still definitely one of those make-it-up-as-you-go-along people as well.’

We think she’s being far too modest.
