Dawson Netz of Arizona Baseball has been selected as one of only two Pac-12 student-athletes to represent the conference at the 2021 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum. The forum was created in 1997 and has provided thousands of student-athletes with a transformative leadership development experience. Student-athletes across the NCAA will develop a deeper understanding of personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles with opportunities to network and build lifelong connections with peers.

The California native just wrapped up his second season with the program and led all Wildcat pitchers in postseason appearances. His sister, Devyn, is a pitcher and position player for Arizona Softball as the Netz family is a proud Wildcat family.

Dawson’s trip to the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum is part of our outstanding C.A.T.S. Student-Athlete Development program that empowers student-athletes to develop as leaders, community members and future professionals. This is a key part of our Wildcat Way student-experience as our athletics department continues its mission of providing opportunities for student-athletes to become academic, athletic and life champions.

The Cats are coming off a season in which the Men placed 12th in the nation, their highest ranking since 2014 and the Women finishing 25th. They will look to build off that momentum with upperclassmen Delaney Schnell and Brooks Fail leading the way. Arizona welcomes 17 incoming freshmen to the team, as they all look to make a great impact in the team’s chase to a conference and national title.

A tip of the cap is in order for Arizona Men’s Golf following second place finishes as a team and individually at the prestigious Blessings Collegiate Invitational that was carried by the Golf Channel. The team finished only behind host Arkansas while junior Chase Sienkiewicz finished in a tie for second place among all players, which was his best career finish.

Coach Anderson and the Wildcats will be back in action at the nationally televised Stephens Cup in Arkansas, beginning on Monday, Oct. 18. Golf Channel will carry the action from the Alotian Club in Roland, Arkansas on all three days.
