Groundbreaking Ceremony for Glenmeadow Phase II Renovations

On June 30th, a special groundbreaking ceremony took place at the site of Glenmeadow's Phase II Renovations to celebrate the commencement of construction on this transformative expansion. This highly anticipated project represents a significant investment in enhancing the quality of life for older adults and further solidifies Glenmeadow''s commitment to providing exceptional care and support to seniors and their families.

Distinguished guests included Town Manager Lyn Simons, Massachusetts State Representative Brian Ashe, State Senator Jacob Olivera and members of the Longmeadow Select Board, Mark Gold, Vineeth Hemavathi and Tom Lachuisa. Glenmeadow residents and staff also attended in marking this important milestone in the journey towards creating a vibrant and enriching environment for older adults.

With a total investment of $10 million, this new addition to Glenmeadow is designed to meet the unique needs and preferences of older adults, offering a range of amenities and services tailored to support an active and holistic lifestyle.

"We are excited to break ground on this remarkable new addition to Glenmeadow," said Amy Santarelli, Chair of Glenmeadow's Board of Directors. "Our goal is to create an environment that not only meets the physical needs of our residents but also fosters a sense of purpose, connection and joy. This expansion represents our ongoing commitment to redefine senior living and provide a meaningful and fulfilling experience for our older adult residents."

Glenmeadow's Phase II Renovations include a range of amenities and services aimed at promoting overall wellness and a sense of community. These include beautifully landscaped outdoor areas, an upgraded pool and spa, a library, as well as new dining venues offering nutritious and delicious meals prepared by experienced chefs. The renovation is thoughtfully designed to accommodate the unique needs of older adults, featuring modern finishes, accessible features, and ample natural light.

Mayor Sarno referenced how over 100 years ago, Glenmeadow's roots started in Springfield, branching into Longmeadow, helping to strengthen ties with the Greater Springfield area, adding, "Glenmeadow provides such wonderful care and services for our seniors, including home care services, throughout Greater Springfield. These Phase II Renovations will provide a dedicated space that encourages healthy living and activities, along with amenities for socializing and relaxing.
